There are a lot of factors that go into creating a high-quality blog post. There are also various tools you can use to help you write a quality blog post!
Today, I’m going to share with you some of my techniques and tools I use to create a great blog post!
How to Write a High-Quality Blog Post
1. Have your target audience in mind
Who are you trying to reach when you write your blog post? What are there needs? What questions might they have?
You might think these questions are a bit difficult to answer at first. How the heck are you supposed to know what people need, right? It’s actually easier than you might think.
Create a reader profile
A reader profile is a description of people already reading your blog, or someone you’d like to be reading your blog (if you have no readers yet).
It is seriously helpful to get to know your readers. It makes it easier to create blog posts and emails tailored to them, find affiliate products they actually need (and therefore will buy) and even create your own products that they actually need.
Create a profile for your desired readers and look at them every time you sit down to write a blog post.
If your blog is about gardening, you probably shouldn’t be writing about the newest car that just came up for instance. I doubt you’ll be writing something that far off-topic, but you get what I mean.
2. Do research beforehand
When you decide on a topic for a blog post, you want to include tons of valuable information in the post.
Researching will take a bit of time. But it will be better to get all of your research on the topic beforehand. Make sure while you research you are creating an outline for your post as well. Planning ahead like this will save you some time in the long run.
Check out what are other people writing about the topic? What can you include in your blog post to make it informative? What is your reader going to go away knowing/doing because of your post?
3. Pick a topic people are looking for
The first thing that goes into a quality blog post is having an interesting topic. If you write a blog post on a boring topic that no one is searching for then chances are, no one is going to see it!
A quality blog post needs to at least one of these things;
-Answer a question people have
-Solve a problem people have
-Entertain them (the less likely option)
The key here is not just having a blog post that solves a problem for 1-2 people. If you want lots of eyes on your content (don’t we all!) You have to make sure lots of people are searching for your blog post topic!
How do you do that?
Yes, there is still more research involved!
You have to conduct keyword research with every blog post you do.
What are keywords?
Keywords are the words or phrases people are putting into google or other search engines to find answers/ solutions.
For example “easy Keto recipes” would be keywords someone would use to search in Google.
So, if you were trying to get on the top pages of google (which is important to get eyes on your content!) You’d want to have “easy keto recipes” throughout your blog post and in a few key places.
4. An interesting title
You need a title that is going to want to make your audience click through to read.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t really matter how good the information is in your blog post. If the title isn’t good enough to make anyone want to click on your post, no one will actually read it.
In this case, people will judge a book by its cover.
On top of making people want to click on your post, you also want to add keywords into the title This way Google will show it to potential readers.

5. Format your blog posts
When most people read blog posts, they don’t read the word for word. So to make your blog posts are high quality, make sure you format your post really well.
Easy to read and understand
You want to make your blog posts easy to read. That means creating short paragraphs. Don’t scare people away with a giant wall of text!
I usually do 2-4 sentences per paragraph. You can decide what is best for you. You also want to watch your text and font.
I personally will instantly click away from a blog post if the text is super small, or the font is hard to read. If I have to zoom in to read your post, I will find another one.
Many of your readers will likely be the same. Honestly, no matter how unique your topic is, there are likely tons of other blog posts out there with the same topic. Don’t scare people off because they can’t read your post!
Make it Visually appealing
It’s a good idea to break up your post with graphics or pictures of some sort if you can.
Sometimes it can be a bit hard to find relevant photos to add. I, personally, don’t like to add random stock photos throughout my post, so it’s okay to skip this part if you want.
This is another way to make the post easy to read. As I said, some people will likely only scan your blog post. They may be looking for a specific answer or checking to see if your blog post is worth a full read.
Adding useful headings and subheadings in your post will not only allow people to skim if they want, but it will also break up your text. Remember to avoid the dreaded wall of text!
6. Proofread your post
There is nothing I hate more than a spelling mistake or a grammatical error!
That’s not to say if I find one spelling mistake in a blog post I’m reading, that I’m going to be disgusted and instantly click away. That’s not the case. As a matter of fact, I’m sure you can go through my blog and find some myself. Mistakes happen.
However, I will click away if the post is so horrible written an littered with mistakes that it hurts my brain to read.
A blog post doesn’t have to be perfect. But still, make sure you read over your posts multiple times before you hit publish. Catch any mistakes you can, but don’t fret over ones you might miss!
7. Add a call to action
What do you want your readers to do after they read your post? Sign up for our email list, leave a comment? Share your post? Make sure to tell them what you’d like them to do! (They may be more inclined to do it!)
-Engage readers with questions at the end for them to answer
-Give them a nice-looking pinnable image to share to their Pinterest boards
-Give them a relevant freebie or offer to sign them up to your email list
A CTA is like a handshake after the blog post. It gets them to keep the conversation going. Keep your readers connected and coming back so that they aren’t just one-off visitors!
